TODAY’S PRAYER POINTS BY MIKE PRAH
Come before the Lord worshiping Him and thanking Him for all He’s done for you.
Today’s prayer is based on the Apostle Paul’s prayer from 2 Thessalonians 1.
“3 Dear brothers and sisters, we can’t help but thank God for you, because your faith is flourishing and your love for one another is growing. 4 We proudly tell God’s other churches about your endurance and faithfulness in all the persecutions and hardships you are suffering. 5 And God will use this persecution to show His justice and to make you worthy of His Kingdom, for which you are suffering. …. 7 And God will provide rest for you who are being persecuted … 11 So we keep on praying for you, asking our God to enable you to live a life worthy of His call. May He give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do. 12 We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ” 2 Thessalonians 1:3-12, NLT+NIV)
Like Paul, pray these prayer points over your life according to the above scripture.
1. PRAY FOR SPIRITUAL GROWTH
“we … thank God for you, because your faith is flourishing and your love for one another is growing” (vs.3)
2. PRAY FOR STRENGTH TO ENDURE HARDSHIPS & SUFFERING. ASK GOD TO USE YOUR SUFFERING TO SHOW HIS JUSTICE
“We proudly tell God’s other churches about your endurance and faithfulness in all the persecutions and hardships you are suffering. And God will use this persecution to show His justice …. (VS. 4 & 5)
3. PRAY FOR GOD TO END YOUR SUFFERING & HARDSHIPS
“God will provide rest for you who are being persecuted (vs. 7)
4. PRAY FOR GOD TO ENABLE YOU TO LIVE A LIFE OF DIVINE PURPOSE
“we keep on praying for you, asking our God to enable you to live a life worthy of His call” (vs. 11a)
5. PRAY FOR FAITH & POWER TO ACCOMPLISH GOOD THINGS
“May He give you the power to accomplish all the good things your faith prompts you to do” (vs. 11b)
6. PRAY FOR GOD’S GLORY TO MANIFEST IN EVERY AREA OF YOUR LIFE
“We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in Him” (vs. 12a)
7. PRAY FOR GOD TO SHOW YOU HIS FAVOR
“We pray … the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ” (vs. 12b)
8. PRAY FOR THE CHURCH
Jesus said: “I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it” (Matthew 16:18, NLT)
Pray for the Church specifically as follows:
(i). Pray that God will pour afresh His spirit upon His Church and that we experience God’s great power
(ii). Pray that God will infuse us with a passion for evangelism. That we are inspired to share Jesus to capture a lost world for Him
(iii). Pray for growth in our numbers to expand God’s Kingdom and pray against anything that will divide our congregation
(iv). Pray that God will bless our church family financially that we will remain faithful to give generously so the financial needs of our Church are met for the glory of God
(v). Pray that our church would receive God’s direction and vision. That the congregation gets nourished from the teaching of His Word
(vi). Pray for the Pastor & his family and the congregation that we will have the strength and endurance to serve by the power of the Holy Spirit
9. PRAY FOR YOUR CHILDREN & DESCENDANTS
“I will pour out my Spirit into your children and my blessing on your descendants.Your children will grow like a tree … beside streams of water.” Isaiah 44:3-4 (NCV)
(b). Pray for God’s covering on your children for the school season
(c). Pray for those seeking to have children
10. PERSONAL PRAYER REQUESTS, INTERCESSION & THANKSGIVING
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done.” Philippians 4:6 (NLT)
(i). Present your specific personal prayer requests to God
(ii). Ask God to bless your biological family, your church family, your pastor & church volunteers, your friends and others in need.
(iii). Close with thanksgiving for all God has done.
