Daily Prayer Points: Psalm 3

TODAY’S PRAYER POINTS BY MIKE PRAH

Begin with praising the name of the Lord. God instructs Him with thanksgiving and praise.

Today’s prayer is based on the Prophet David’s prayer from Psalm 3

“You, O Lord, are a shield around me; You are my glory, my wonderful God, the One who holds my head high. 4 I cried out to the Lord, and He answered me from His holy mountain. 5 I lay down and slept, yet I woke up in safety, for the Lord was watching over me. 6 I am not afraid of ten thousand enemies who surround me on every side. 7 Arise, O Lord! Rescue me, my God! Slap all my enemies in the face! … 8 Victory comes from you, O Lord. May you bless your people.” Psalm 3:3-8 (NLT)

Pray these prayer points over your life by faith from the above Scripture.

1. PRAY FOR GOD’S MERCY, FORGIVENESS, CLEANSING, WISDOM & DISCERNMENT AGAINST THE TRAPS & TEMPTATION OF THE ENEMY

“Lord, you are a shield around me” (vs.3a)

[A shield protect the heart]

 

2. ASK GOD TO PERFORM WONDERFUL WORKS IN EVERY AREA OF YOUR LIFE LIFE (Physically, emotionally, financially, relationally, spiritually, vocationally).

“Lord, you are … my glory, my wonderful God” (vs. 3b)

 

3. PRAY FOR GOD’S STRENGTH & STAMINA TO OVERCOME ANY OPPOSITION & SETBACK

“Lord, you are … my wonderful God, the One who holds my head high” (vs. 3c)

 

4. ASK GOD TO ANSWER YOUR PRAYERS & MEET ALL YOUR NEEDS

“I cried out to the Lord, and He answered me from His holy mountain” (vs. 4)

 

5. PRAY FOR GOD’S PROTECTION & DELIVERANCE

“ I lay down and slept, yet I woke up in safety, for the Lord was watching over me. I am not afraid of ten thousand enemies who surround me on every side.  Arise, O Lord! Rescue me, my God! Slap all my enemies in the face!” (vs. 5-7)

 

6. PRAY FOR VICTORY & SUCCESS

“Victory comes from you, O Lord. May you bless your people”(vs. 8)

 

7. PRAY FOR THE CHURCH

“Pray for us that the Lord’s message may continue to spread rapidly and be received with honor” (2 Thessalonians 3:1)

Pray for the Church specifically as follows:

(i). Pray that God will pour afresh His spirit upon His Church and that we experience God’s great power

(ii). Pray that God will infuse us with a passion for evangelism. That we are inspired to share Jesus to capture a lost world for Him

(iii). Pray for growth in our numbers to expand God’s Kingdom and pray against anything that will divide our congregation

(iv). Pray that God will bless our church family financially that we will remain faithful to give generously so the financial needs of our Church are met for the glory of God

(v). Pray that our church would receive God’s direction and vision. That the congregation gets nourished from the teaching of His Word

(vi). Pray for the Pastor & his family and the congregation that we will have the strength and endurance to serve by the power of the Holy Spirit

 

8. PRAY FOR YOUR CHILDREN & DESCENDANTS

“I will pour out my Spirit into your children and my blessing on your descendants.Your children will grow like a tree … beside streams of water.” Isaiah 44:3-4 (NCV)​

(b). Pray for God’s covering on your children for the school season

(c). Pray for those seeking to have children

 

9. PERSONAL PRAYER REQUESTS, INTERCESSION & THANKSGIVING

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done.” Philippians 4:6 (NLT)

(i). Present your specific personal prayer requests to God

(ii). Ask God to bless your biological family, your church family, your pastor & church volunteers, your friends and others in need.

(iii). Close with thanksgiving for all God has done.
