“Everyone talks about how loyal and faithful they are, but just try to find someone who really is.”  Proverbs 20:6 (GN)

“Lord help!  Godly men are fast disappearing.  Where in all the world can dependable men be found?”  Psalm 12:1 (LB)

“The one thing required of servants is that they be faithful to their master.” I Corinthians 4:2 (GN)

Jesus: “Everyone who denies me here on earth, I will also deny before my Father in heaven.” Matthew 10:33 (NLT)

I.  WHY DEVELOP FAITHFULNESS?

  1. TO BE LIKE GOD.

“Imitate God, therefore, in everything you do, because you are His dear children.” Ephesians 5:1 (NLT)

“God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son…”  1 Cor. 1:9 (KJV)

“The Lord is faithful, He will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.” 2 Thessalonians 3:3 (NIV)

“God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, He will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.” 1 Corinthians 10:13 (NIV)

“The Lord is fair in all His ways and faithful in everything He does.” Psalm 145:17 (GW)

  1. FAITHFULNESS PREPARES ME FOR LEADERSHIP ROLES

“Who, then, is the faithful and wise servant?  He is the one whom his master has placed in charge of the other servants…”  Matthew 25:45 (GN)

“I thank Christ Jesus our Lord who has enabled me, because He counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry.” 1 Timothy 1:12 (NKJV)

“For this reason I have sent to you Timothy … who is faithful in the Lord. He will remind you of my way of life in Christ Jesus” 1 Corinthians 4:17 (NIV)

“The things that you have heard from me among many witnesses, commit these to faithful people who will be able to teach others also.” 2 Timothy 2:2 (NKJV)

“Who, then, is the faithful and wise servant?  He is the one whom his master has placed in charge of the other servants…”  Matthew 25:45 (GN)

  1. FAITHFULNESS GUARANTEES GOD’S BLESSING ON MY LIFE

“O Lord, you are faithful to those who are faithful to you” Psalm 18:25 (GN)

“There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first and said, ‘Son, go and work today in the vineyard.’  “‘I will not,’ he answered, but later he changed his mind and went.  “Then the father went to the other son and said the same thing. He answered, ‘I will, sir,’ but he did not go. “Which of the two did what his father wanted?” “The first,” they answered” Matthew 21:28-31a (NLT)

“Jesus said to them, “Truly I tell you, the tax collectors and the prostitutes are entering the kingdom of God ahead of you. For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him.” Matthew 21:31b-32 (NLT)

“A faithful person will be richly blessed …”  Proverbs 28:20 (NIV)

“Like a bad tooth or a lame foot is reliance on the unfaithful in times of trouble.”  Proverbs 25:19 (NIV)

“Give, and you will receive. You will be given much. Pressed down, shaken together, and running over, it will spill into your lap. The way you give to others is the way God will give to you.” Luke 6:38 (NCV)

“In all the work you are doing, work the best you can. Work as if you were doing it for the Lord, not for people. Remember that you will receive your reward from the Lord, which He promised to his people. You are serving the Lord Christ.” Colossians 3:23-24 (NCV)

  1. FAITHFULNESS WILL BE REWARDED IN HEAVEN.

“His master replied, `Well done, good and faithful servant!   You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things.  Come and share your master’s happiness.”  Matthew 25:21 (NIV)

“Take the money from the [unfaithful] servant, and give it to the one with the ten bags of silver. To those who use well what they are given, even more will be given, and they will have an abundance. But from those who do nothing, even what little they have will be taken away. Now throw this useless servant into outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” Matthew 25:28-30 (NLT
